Range Rover Mirror fitting instructions
Digital Mirror & Dual Dash Cam — Range Rover Classic Fitment
Note: The Range Rover Classic mount replaces the factory sun visor bracket and reuses the two factory screws. The factory mirror and mount can be removed. We generally pick up power at the headunit (switched 12V + ground); fit inline fuses on both feeds.
Parts
- New Digital Mirror & Dual Dash Cam (ClearSight™-style display; 4K front / 2.5K rear recording)
- Regal Rover Classics Range Rover Classic Mirror Mount (sun-visor replacement; carbon fibre composite)
- Rear camera & cable
- Hardwire kit (ACC/B+ leads)
- GPS sensor
- Inline blade fuse holders + fuses (recommend 3–5A on each feed)
Mirror Fitment
1) Prep the new mirror
- Place the mirror face-down on a clean microfibre cloth.
- Offer the Regal Rover mount to the back of the mirror — it self-locates on the bosses.
- Install the four screws into the mirror body and tighten evenly.
2) Remove the OEM mirror & mount
- Support the factory mirror and undo its fastener(s) to remove the mirror from the mount.
- Remove the two screws securing the factory sun visor / mirror mount to the roof panel and take the mount off.
- Keep the area clean; check the roof skin for burrs before fitting the new bracket.
3) Install the Regal Rover bracket & mirror
- Position the Regal Rover bracket over the two factory holes (sun-visor location).
- Fasten using suitable screws (use the originals if length and thread suit; otherwise supply new fasteners of the correct spec). Tighten evenly.
- Attach the Digital Mirror to the bracket and snug the fasteners. Check articulation and screen visibility.
Power Pick-Up — Range Rover Classic (Headunit Harness)
- Remove the radio/headunit to access the harness behind the dash.
- Identify a switched 12V (ACC) feed (live only with ignition on) and a reliable ground point. Many headunit looms provide ACC (often red/yellow depending on prior installs) and ground (often black), but confirm with a multimeter.
- Install inline blade fuse holders on the mirror’s ACC (and constant 12V if used) — we recommend 3–5A fuses.
- Crimp/solder and heat-shrink all joints. Avoid Scotch-locks where possible.
- Ground the Black wire to a factory ground or clean, bare metal; ensure a solid mechanical fix.
- Plug the hardwire kit’s USB-C into the mirror and re-fit the headunit.
Tip: If you prefer a constant + ACC set-up (for parking mode), add a fused constant 12V feed from the radio memory/B+ line and configure the mirror’s power settings accordingly.
Rear Camera
Routing & install
- Plug the rear-camera lead into the mirror’s REAR port.
- Run the cable along the windscreen edge, tuck into the headliner, down the A-pillar behind trim, then along the sill to the rear quarter. Continue up the D-pillar to the upper tailgate.
- Mount the camera inside on the rear glass (top centre) or externally near the number-plate light with 3M VHB tape. Leave a small service loop at hinges/tailgate.
- Optional — reverse trigger only: connect the camera’s red pigtail to the reverse-light positive at the tail lamp harness; insulate the joint. (Wire colours vary — verify with a multimeter.)
GPS Sensor
- Stick the GPS puck on the dash top near the windscreen with a clear sky view.
- Ensure the black face is up.
- Once satellites are acquired, the GPS icon appears and speed/direction becomes available.
Final checks
- Looms not pinched; trims refitted rattle-free.
- Mirror angle set; screen brightness and recording settings configured.
- Rear camera view/reverse trigger verified; footage saving to SD card.
- Inline fuses seated correctly; ignition on/off behaviour as expected.
