A purpose-built cam synchronisation solution for Rover V8 engines.
This billet cam sync replaces the factory distributor to provide a clean, reliable Hall-effect cam reference for modern EFI and ignition systems.

Designed specifically for Rover V8 conversions, it eliminates the compromises and failure points associated with modifying original distributors, delivering accurate cam position data for full sequential fuel and ignition control.

This is the only dedicated Rover V8 cam sync currently available, engineered from the ground up for both street and motorsport applications.

The unit installs in the original distributor location and retains the OEM oil-pump drive on earlier engines, allowing modern engine management without sacrificing mechanical reliability.

Compatibility

  • Engines: Rover V8 3.5, 3.9, 4.2 (standard distributor location)
  • Vehicles: Range Rover Classic, Discovery I V8, Defender V8 and custom Rover V8 builds
  • ECUs: Compatible with any aftermarket ECU accepting a Hall-effect cam input, including Haltech, Megasquirt (including older units), Link, MaxxECU and Holley EFI
  • Applications: Street, performance and motorsport

Construction

The cam sync uses a three-piece CNC-machined billet body. The main housing and upper section are machined from billet alloy to ensure rigidity and precise sensor alignment. A carbon-reinforced nylon cap protects the sensor and wiring, providing a durable and tidy engine-bay finish.

The internal shaft is machined in Australia and uses a magnetic trigger to generate a clean and stable cam synchronisation signal. All final machining, magnet installation, assembly and quality control are handled locally.

Available in two anodised finishes: Silver or Matte Black.

Installation

Installation documentation is supplied for the cam sync. Installation should be completed by a qualified workshop experienced in drivetrain modifications.
