Important: This listing is a parts-only package for the 8-speed conversion. It includes the precision mechanical adapter hardware and chassis mount required to mate the Rover V8 engine, ZF 8HP gearbox, and LT230 transfer case.
Electronic control systems and wiring are not included. This is not plug-and-play. Installation and setup must be completed by a qualified workshop.
⚠️ Critical Fitment Note – Centre Diff Lock (CDL):
Some LT230 transfer cases fitted with a centre diff lock (CDL) will have clearance interference with the current 8HP-to-LT230 adapter housing.
Machining is required to clear the CDL bolt heads on affected units. This applies only to CDL-equipped transfer cases; standard non-CDL LT230s are unaffected.
An updated adapter design is in development to address this in future production runs. This note is provided so all customers and installers are aware before purchase.

8-Speed Conversion Parts Package for Classic Land Rovers
The Regal Rover Classics 8-Speed Conversion Parts Package provides the core engineered components needed to pair a Rover V8 with a Land Rover ZF 8HP automatic gearbox and LT230 transfer case. Each component is selected to maintain correct alignment, driveline geometry, and durability — while preserving the vehicle’s original Land Rover character.
Build time: Each package is assembled to order and typically ships within 2–6 weeks.

- Engine-to-8HP Adapter: Billet CNC plate (Rover V8 → 8HP), anodised blue
- 8HP-to-LT230 Adapter: Precision interface housing with spud shaft
- Adapter Chassis Mount – designed for correct driveline angle and clearance
- Crank Boss
- Bell Housing Lower Dust Plate & Spacer

Factory Rover V8 and 8HP bolts, dowels, and hardware are not included.
What Else You’ll Need
This package forms the foundation of your 8-speed swap. Additional parts and work are required to complete installation, depending on your vehicle and chosen control setup. Typical items include:
- ZF 8HP automatic gearbox from a Land Rover Discovery TDV6/TDV8 or Range Rover 5.0 V8
- Factory THOR V8 flexplate (Rover V8 crankshaft)
- Factory Discovery TDV6/TDV8 flexplate (8HP torque converter)
- Transmission controller (e.g. TurboLamik or similar), wiring loom, and calibration
- Shifter assembly – can be sourced and integrated as preferred
- Factory crossmember removal may be required depending on vehicle setup
Other commonly required components:
- Transmission oil cooler and lines
- Oil cooler adapter fittings
- Modified or custom park brake release mechanism
- Exhaust clearance adjustments
- Driveshaft length modifications
- Final wiring and calibration setup

A billet flywheel package is currently in development.
