Rover V8 EFI Conversion Systems

Modern engine management for the Rover V8 — built to turn a weekend classic into a car you can drive every day, or confidently take across the country.

Regal Rover Classics EFI systems replace ageing fuel and ignition hardware with modern, reliable engine management. Cold starts, smooth idle, consistent fuelling and predictable throttle response — without compromising the character of the Rover V8.

The aim is simple: remove the stress that comes with outdated engine management and make your classic Land Rover something you can genuinely rely on.

Stage 3 — Digital EFI (Recommended)

Stage 3 is our recommended EFI platform and the system we design around. It uses a modern, fully digital engine management architecture with internal solid-state power control.

There are no external fuse boxes or mechanical relays. Power distribution and protection are handled inside the ECU itself, resulting in a cleaner installation, fewer failure points and improved long-term reliability.

If you are planning a ZF 8-speed automatic conversion, Stage 3 is the required EFI platform.

Stage 3 DBW — Digital EFI + Drive-By-Wire

Stage 3 DBW builds on Stage 3 by adding electronic throttle control. This is the configuration for the most modern Rover V8 builds and pairs naturally with advanced driveline upgrades.

Drive-by-wire provides smoother throttle resolution, improved drivability and enables additional features such as cruise control when configured by your installer.

Stage 2 — Full Sequential EFI (Entry level)

Stage 2 is a more traditional EFI solution that delivers modern fuel and ignition control while retaining a conventional wiring and power distribution layout.

It offers full sequential operation and modern ignition performance using external fusing and relays in a familiar, serviceable format.

Installation & requirements

These systems are supplied as complete EFI solutions but must be installed by a qualified mechanic or automotive electrician.

Some vehicle-side wiring is required at your end. We provide full installation documentation, pin-outs and references to Haltech software to support your installer.

Fuel system recommendation: We strongly recommend replacing or upgrading the fuel pump and fuel supply system to match the capability of a modern EFI setup.
