Soft Dash to Discovery 2 Climate Control
Patch harness installation guide for fitting the Discovery 2 automatic climate control system to a 1994–1995 Range Rover Classic Soft Dash.

Before You Begin
Once the Discovery 2 HVAC assembly has been installed, complete the following steps to connect it to the original Range Rover Classic wiring harness.
The original Soft Dash connectors used throughout this guide remain attached to the vehicle wiring harness after the original HVAC assembly has been removed.
1Install the Blower Relay Patch Harness
Locate the original fan speed switch connector C2022 on the vehicle wiring harness.
Plug in the supplied Blower Relay Patch Harness.
This patch harness enables the original blower relay and provides the correct blower earth circuit required by the Discovery 2 HVAC system while retaining the original factory fuse protection.

2Install the Blower Power Patch Harness
Locate the original Range Rover Classic blower motor connector.
Plug the supplied Blower Power Patch Harness into the factory blower motor connector.
Connect the opposite end to the blower power input on the side of the Discovery 2 HVAC assembly.
This provides the Discovery 2 HVAC assembly with the original high-current, ignition-switched blower power supply while retaining the factory fused circuit.
3Install the HVAC Control Power Patch Harness
Locate the original Soft Dash HVAC control connector on the vehicle wiring harness.
Plug in the supplied HVAC Control Power Patch Harness.
This patch harness provides the Discovery 2 HVAC control system with:
- Ignition-switched power
- Chassis ground
Power and ground are supplied through the original vehicle wiring while retaining the factory fuse protection.
4Install the A/C Request Patch Harness
Locate the original Soft Dash HVAC control connector on the vehicle wiring harness.
Plug in the supplied A/C Request Patch Harness.
Connect the opposite end to Connector C0793, Pin 11 on the Discovery 2 HVAC control unit.
This allows the Discovery 2 climate control system to request air conditioning through the original Range Rover Classic A/C system.
5Final Checks
- Blower Relay Patch Harness connected to C2022
- Blower Power Patch Harness connected at both ends
- HVAC Control Power Patch Harness connected
- A/C Request Patch Harness connected to C0793, Pin 11
- All connectors fully seated and locked
